Within the framework of Al Falah University's keenness to maintain a safe learning environment, Student Affairs at the University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, organized a virtual awareness session entitled “Hand in Hand, We Recover”, presented by Dr. Rola Al-Zuhairi. AFU students, faculty and administrative staff attended the session via the Microsoft Team program.

Dr. Rola Al-Zuhairi discussed ways to prevent COVID-19 transmission and delivered information on the new mutations of the virus that can increase the speed of the virus’s spreading.

As a preventative measure, Dr. Rola encouraged the audience to take the COVID-19 vaccination.  The doctor also stressed the need to adhere to the specified date for the first and second dose of the vaccination; in addition to, the general safety measures set forth by the medical cadre in the country.  She further added that although taking the vaccine reduces the infection rate significantly, but does not completely prevent catching the virus. Therefore, the vaccinated people remain vulnerable to COVID-19 and transmitting the virus to others.

Dr. Rola Al-Zuhairi advised AFU members to social distance and inform the concerned unit at the University if any of the following symptoms are presented:  

  • fever
  • Fatigue
  • Dry cough

Additional symptoms may include, body aches, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea.
