Head of Business Administration, Dr. P. Kokkalis, shared with COBA faculty members and other colleagues his experience and understanding of the problems and benefits associated with publishing a manuscript in a top-rated academic journal (ABS 4*). As someone who has already journeyed through that process, Dr. Kokkalis highlighted a number of areas that any researcher need to be mindful of before, during, and after a manuscript are submitted to these journals. For example, increased competition, long and tedious review process, and high rejection rates present a challenge for all researchers. However, the publication of a paper in these journals has the potential to provide an important stepping stone to the researcher’s career, reputation, mobility, and rank. Also, at the institutional level, publications in high-ranked journals are particularly significant in determining the University’s international reputation.
